1900 Hadrians Wall

Hadrian’s Wall 1900 celebrates 1900 years since the beginning of the construction of Hadrian’s Wall.

A yearlong celebration takes place in 2022 with numerous events and activities to celebrate 1900 years since the building of Hadrian’s Wall.  The Wall is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognised as a cultural and historical asset of Outstanding Universal Value to humanity.

Examples of events include Roman history, exhibitions such as dark skies, photography, local Roman finds from excavations, cultural diversity, food, music, the arts and more.  Vallum Lodge is ideally situated for arguably some of the best Roman sites including Vindolanda, Housesteads, Chesters, Birdoswald, Roman Army Museum and The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre, to name a few!
